Privacy policy
This policy explains what Homy Food collects when you use homyfood.in, why we collect it and what we do with it. We keep this short because we collect very little.
Who we are
Homy Food, at No. 66/100, Avvai Nagar Main Road, Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai 600041, Tamil Nadu.
What we collect
When you place an order. Your name, delivery address, phone number, email address, the items you ordered and your payment method. We need these to grind, pack and deliver your order and to contact you about it.
When you send an enquiry. Whatever you type into the contact or wholesale form: your name, business name, phone number, email address, area, the batter you are asking about and your message. We use it only to answer you.
Automatically. Your IP address is recorded with orders and form submissions as a basic anti-spam measure. Our host keeps standard server logs.
How you use the site. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people look at, and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors move around the site so we can find what is confusing or broken. Clarity records mouse movement, clicks, scrolling and the pages you view, and can replay that as an anonymous session recording. It is configured to hide what you type, so form fields, your address and payment details are masked out of those recordings. We use this to improve the site, never to identify you personally.
We do not sell your data, we do not run advertising trackers of our own, and we do not ask for anything we do not need.
Cookies
The shop sets a cookie to remember what is in your cart and to keep you signed in if you create an account. Our caching plugin may set a cookie to serve pages faster. The map on our contact page is embedded from Google Maps, and Google may set its own cookies when that map loads.
Google Analytics sets cookies to tell a returning visitor from a new one. Microsoft Clarity sets cookies named CLID and MUID for the same reason. You should know that the MUID cookie is shared with Microsoft’s wider advertising system, so while we do not advertise to you, Microsoft may associate that identifier with its own services.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser, though the cart will not work without them. You can also opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s browser add-on, and Microsoft explains how to opt out of Clarity on its own privacy page.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your details and we do not share them for marketing. We share only what is necessary with:
- Our web host, who stores the site and its database on our behalf.
- Google, which processes website usage data through Google Analytics.
- Microsoft, which processes website usage data and session recordings through Clarity.
- Anyone delivering your order, who needs your name, address and phone number.
- Government authorities, where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Enquiries are kept only as long as we need them to answer you, and are then deleted. Account details stay until you ask us to remove them.
Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Write to reach@homyfood.in and we will respond within a month.
