Terms and conditions

These terms apply when you order from homyfood.in or from our counter. By placing an order you accept them.

The product

We sell fresh, naturally fermented batter made without preservatives. It is a perishable food. Refrigerate it as soon as it arrives and use it within 3 to 4 days. Because there is nothing in it to stop fermentation, the batter keeps rising gently in the fridge and its taste changes over those days. That is normal.

Weights are as stated on the pack. Small natural variation in colour, thickness and rise between batches is part of a stone ground, naturally fermented product.

If you have a food allergy or intolerance, contact us before ordering. Our batters are made in a kitchen that handles rice, urad dal, other dals, millets and wheat.

Orders

An order is confirmed when you complete checkout and we accept it. We may decline an order, for example if we are out of capacity for that night, if the delivery address is outside the area we can reach, or if we cannot verify the details you gave us. If we decline an order you have already paid for, we refund it in full.

Order before 6 PM for delivery the next morning. Orders can be cancelled free of charge until 6 PM on the day you order. After that the batter has been ground for you and cannot be cancelled.

Prices and payment

Prices are in Indian rupees and are shown on the product pages. We may change prices at any time, but the price shown when you place an order is the price you pay for that order. Delivery charges, where they apply, are shown at checkout before you confirm.

Delivery

We deliver within about 10 km of Thiruvanmiyur. Delivery is free within roughly 2 km and charged at a flat rate up to 10 km. Beyond 10 km, message us on WhatsApp and we will confirm whether we can reach you before you order. We do not deliver outside Chennai.

Delivery times are given in good faith and can be affected by weather, traffic and things outside our control. Someone needs to be available to receive the order at the address you gave, because the batter cannot be left out in the heat. If nobody is available, we will contact you, and the order may not be able to be re-delivered.

You are also welcome to collect from our counter.

Returns and refunds

Because the product is fresh and perishable, we do not accept returns or give refunds for a change of mind. If something arrived spoiled, damaged or wrong, tell us and we will put it right. The full position is on our Refunds and returns page.

Wholesale

Wholesale supply runs on separately agreed quantities, rates and delivery schedules. Where a written wholesale agreement exists, it takes precedence over these terms.

This website

The text, photographs and branding on this site belong to us and may not be copied or reused without permission. We try to keep the site accurate and available, but we do not guarantee it will be free of errors or uninterrupted.

Liability

Our responsibility for any order is limited to the value of that order. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot be limited under Indian law, including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Chennai have jurisdiction.
